Presenting external speakers at the Frontiers Workshop 

Each year 1st years are asked to host a guest speaker between Monday and Wednesday of Frontiers week.

Hosting will involve communicating with the speaker prior to Frontiers week and supporting their visit. Host will need to research the speaker enough to give a brief introduction before their talk and also Chair the Q&A session after their talk. 

Host are also expected to be the first point of contact on the speakers arrival date. Speakers need to be greeted and shown to the lecture theatre and guided for the period of their stay to refreshments and lunch.

Once the schedule has been confirmed it will be uploaded to the this webpage and you will be able to choose which speaker you would like to host. Advice for presenting external speakers will be uploaded here in the near future.

Chairing sessions at the student conference

Volunteers are need to chair each session of the student conference from Wednesday to Friday. The Chairing responsibility consists of making sure the speakers run to time (starting and ending each student talk promptly), and managing the Q&A.
