Eligible external organisations can request to connect to the University of York/Janet network.

Connections are a minimum of 1 Gb/sec.

Overview

Eligibility

The organisation must be campus or York Science Park based.

Their main activity must be in higher or further education, or they should be involved in collaboration with the research or education community (in the UK or elsewhere).

We can provide a University of York network connection to eligible external organisations.

A network feed from a University managed IP v4 router.

Connections will be provided at a minimum of 1Gb/sec. Where 10G/b sec is required, we may need to pass on installation costs.

How to request

To request a network connection, please contact the IT Support.

When dealing with requests to provide a new link, we aim to provide an initial response within five working days, and complete installation within 5 weeks. However, this is subject to Estates restrictions.
