Contemporary Women's Movement in Turkey: The Potential for Solidarity Across Differences

In 2008, I graduated with a BA in Politics from the Hacettepe University and also completed my MA in Politics at the same university where I have worked as a research assistant for 6 years.

I began my PhD research at the CWS in October 2013 under the supervision of Professor Stevi Jackson. My aim is to understand how experiences of the women from diverse backgrounds and politicisation processes shape their perceptions and their positions on gender issues in Turkey. I would like to explore differences and similarities of women among varied positions in the context of women's movement. Moreover, I would like to examine the possibility of solidarity among these different groups of women.
