Event details

Team Gray Matter is a non-profit project around the participation in the first ever competitive Brain Computer Interface (BCI) race at Cybathlon 2016, the World's first championships for Robotic and Technology assisted paralysed athletes. Wearing EEG (Electroencephalography) equipment which includes a skull cap full of electrodes, the team’s “pilot”, Peter Gray, will command an avatar through a video game style race course against other competitors, and through an intensive development and training process, Peter’s brain signals will be translated into a set of commands so that he is able to control the avatar in real-time using only his thoughts. The team are also responsible for a new start up, Gray Matter Technology, utilising BCI and other advanced assistive technologies to provide new interactive possibilities for users.
