The PiKon Telescope is a 3D printed, Raspberry Pi powered astro-cam. Developed for the University of Sheffield’s “Festival of the Mind” in 2014, it shows the benefit of disruptive technologies such as 3D printing and Raspberry Pi computing to the citizen scientist/astronomer. One year on its designers, Alternative-Photonics, are providing kits of parts through crowd funding for home construction.
