Event details

On 2 October 1968, a student demonstration in the Square of the Three Cultures in Mexico City came under attack by the paramilitary troops and the army. Many were killed; more wounded and arrested. This day is known as the Tlatelolco Massacre. For years now, people have been trying to learn ‘the truth’ about what happened that day. But is learning ‘the truth’ about the massacre possible? What ‘truth’ is out there? Who was telling ‘the truth’ and who was lying about the events on that fateful day? What can we learn from the texts published between 3 October 1968 and the end of 1976? And can we handle the truth we may discover?
