Event details

Nature brings us many benefits, such as clean water, natural flood protection, crop pollination, recreation and beauty. Scientists at the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Service Sustainability programme are working across the UK to understand how levels of biodiversity are related to these different benefits and how we can maintain these benefits.

Come and have a chat to our scientists, take a look at our map of York and add to it the nature location that you value most and why. This might be a single tree that blossoms every Spring or a whole meadow where you walk the dog. You can also add the location you value least and you would most like to be improved. Together we will build a living map of our connections with York’s green and blue spaces and consider how they might change in the future.
