Emeritus Professor Richard Law from the Department of Biology joins Dr Gustav Delius in the Department of Mathematics for four years to work on the  'Science, Technology and Society Initiative to Minimize Unwanted Catches in European Fisheries' (MINOUW) European Commission project. Professor Law is located in the York Centre for Complex Systems Analysis (YCCSA) in the Ron Cooke Hub.

Research

Overview

Richard Law is a mathematical biologist, best known as one of the founders of 'adaptive dynamics', a framework of mathematical models that links ecology, phenotypic evolution and population genetics. He is currently working with Gustav Delius on modelling marine ecosystems.
