Research

Overview

Symmetry and measurement: a foundation for semi-local quantum physics.

Projects

The long term aim of this project is to develop a framework for semi-local quantum physics. Such a framework should extend the algebraic quantum field theory framework to include a description of semi-local observables, such as relational observables, dressed observables and asymptotic/boundary observables which play a role in gauge theories and quantum gravity. One particular aspect that we wish to address, is to what extent such observables are measurable by a relativistic quantum measurement scheme.
