About the software

ACDLabs (ChemSketch, Spectrus Processor, 3D Viewer & Import Process Mapper) 2017.2.1 is installed on all IT Services classroom PCs and is available for all other University and personally owned staff and student PCs - please see the Obtaining the software tab.

Obtaining the software


ACDLabs is installed on all IT Services classroom PCs.

It appears under Start | Programs | ACD Labs 2017.

Managed office PCs

To install ACDLabs on office PCs managed by IT Services, follow these steps:

  1. From the Start Menu search for and open Software Center
  2. Locate the software under the Available Software tab
  3. Click on the Install button in the lower right

Unmanaged PCs and home use

All staff and students are able to install ACDLabs on unmanaged University owned PCs and personally owned devices. If you are working off campus, you will need to use the VPN.

Installation files:

When has downloaded, the installer will need extracting. Open the folder containing the download and right click on Select Extract All and then Extract. You should then double-click script.msi in the ACDLabs 2016 folder to start the installation.

When ACDLabs is installed on an unmanaged university or personally owned computer you'll also need to change the license server address. Open the registration program (you can find this at C:\Apps\ACD2016LSM\REGISTER.EXE) and click on License Server. Change Address to be
