Who is involved in this study?

EMERALD is a two-year mixed methods study funded by the National Institute for Health Research (ref: 15/70/26). It is led by the Department of Health Sciences, University of York, and draws on expertise from the universities of Leeds and Southampton, Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust, and our Patient and Public Involvement panel DIAMONDS VOICE. The study is led by Dr Najma Siddiqi and forms part of the DIAMONDS research programme on severe mental illness and diabetes which sits under the Mental and Physical Health Multimorbidity research theme in the Mental Health and Addiction Research Group.

NHS studies are independently reviewed to ensure that research is conducted in accordance with robust ethical principles. EMERALD has been approved by Greater Manchester West Research Ethics Committee (IRAS no. 235328) and has been registered on ClinicalTrials.gov (ref. NCT03534921).
