Margaret Hopkins of Ystrad Meine in the Parish of Ystrad Meirre in the County of Cardigan, Widow, cometh before me John Lloyd Esquire one of His majestys Justices of the peace in and for the said County of Cardigan and voluntarily and of her own accord make and saith That she well knoweth Charles late of Ystradmeyrre aforesaid but now of Hull in the County of york Literate. That she hath heard Her late Daughter in law Elizabeth Hopkins now deceased in her life time often say that the said Charles Williamson was eight years of age when he was delivered to her Charge in the Province of Bengal in India, that she the said Elizabeth Hopkins was the Wife of George Dickenson Esquire then residing in India, That the said Elizabeth Hopkins (then Dickenson) has the said Charles Williamson under her care for four years in India, when the said George Dickenson dieing, she brought the said Charles Williamson Home to England along with Her and put him to School under the care of the Reverend John William at Ystradmeyrre aforesaid then the Brother in law of this Deponent. That he continued at the said school of Ystradmeyrre for two years when he the said Charles Williamson was then and there baptised He being then in the year one thousand eight hundred and four of the age of fourteen, and further this Deponent refereth to the Register of the said Parish of Ystradmeirre for the present age of the said Charles Williamson.
