Biography

As University Archivist, I look after the University's own archive and as Records Manager support departments with the management and retention of their records.

I am the University's Data Protection and Freedom of Information Officer and as well as responding to a wide range of information requests, provide compliance and records training for staff and University researchers.

Before joining the Borthwick, I was University Archivist at the University of Warwick and an Assistant Archivist at its Modern Records Centre.

Publications

Selected publications

Publications include a critical edition of the fifteenth-century cartulary of St Mary's Collegiate Church, Warwick, and articles on medieval colleges, craft guilds and archive sources.

Charles is currently editing a medieval visitation roll for Southwell Minster, some pre-Reformation accounts, and calendaring the register of Archbishop George Neville of York.
