How Mass Atrocities End in Indonesia

Project overview

Dr Claire Smith is leading a two year project on ‘How Mass Atrocities End in Indonesia’ as part of a wider World Peace Foundation research programme with scholars from Tufts, Harvard, and the LSE on "Ending Mass Atrocities.” This programme is a multi-country study on the relationship between mass atrocities and various forms of solution and intervention, with the results to be published in a major new series of articles and books.

The World Peace Foundation is housed at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. Led by Alex De Waal, it is one of the leading US based think-tanks on global issues surrounding peace, conflict and war. The project's blog on "Reinventing Peace" features essays by Ken Menkhaus on Somalia, Alex De Waal on Sudan, Bridget Conley-Zilkic on Syria and Claire Smith on Indonesia.

This project is funded by the World Peace Foundation.
