Disability

The Department of Politics and International Relations is committed to making engagement accessible through fostering inclusivity and supporting staff and students with disabilities.

Dr Pavlos Vasilopoulos is the dedicated Disability Representative in the Department. Ms Sue Leatt is the dedicated Disability Administrative Officer.

Information for staff

The University of York has a dedicated Disabled Staff Network: INCLUDE. The network was launched on the 2nd of February 2015 by the Vice-Chancellor. The network meets once a semester and occasionally features invited speakers. The network aims to promote the value of disabled talent and improve the working experience of staff members by raising awareness, sharing good practice and providing a space for discussion and exchange.

Information for students

The University of York has a Disability Centre which offers support and advice. The Centre can arrange academic support and adjustments for students with a disability or long-term health condition that has a significant impact on their ability to study.

The Students Union has its own Disabled Students Officer, and there are weekly meetings held via the DSN peer support network.
