Biography

Biography

Tim is now a semi-retired member of the Communications and Signal Processing Group, having previously been Group Leader. He still teaches communications topics within the School of Physics, Engineering and Technology, and also maintains a number of research interests and activities including work with industry and government agencies. Having a background in satellite communications, Tim was heavily involved in research activity relating to High Altitude Platforms (HAPs), and he was Chair of COST297. He also teaches externally on satellite communications, including the IET Summer School on Satcoms.

Research Interests:

High Altitude Platform (HAP) communications; Satellite communications; wireless communication systems.

Teaching Interests:

More or less anything to do with communications, but especially satellite communications.

Other Interests:

For something completely different, Tim enjoys playing the piano, and specialises in accompanying singers in classical Lieder and Art Songs.
