Year 1

Rules:

  • Students take 120 credits: 60 credits in each semester.
  • In S1 students take three x CORE modules.
  • In S2 students take three x CORE modules

Year 2

Rules:

  • Students take 120 credits: 60 credits in each semester.
  • Students take at least one English module and at least one Philosophy module in each semester.
  • Students may choose up to 80 credits in one department across the year.
  • One 20 credit module may be replaced by a YIMs or Elective module.
Semester 1 Semester 2

One or two English modules from a choice of:

  • Intermediate Option Modules
  • World Literature Modules (no more than one WLM per semester)

One or two English modules from a choice of:

  • Intermediate Option Modules
  • World Literature Modules (no more than one WLM per semester)
One or two from a choice of Philosophy options One or two from a choice of Philosophy options

Year 2 Philosophy optional modules

Year 3 

Rules:

  • Students take 120 credits in Year 3.
  • PHI00041H Philosophy Short Dissertation is optional module and may be taken in either S1 or S2.
  • Students may take 40 credits in one department and 80 in the other provided that they take at least 140 credits in each department over the course of their 3 year degree.
  • Students may replace up to 20 credits of optional modules with a YLE, YIMs or elective module.

  • Students may take 60 credits in one department and 60 in the other, or

Students take one 40 credit stage-long capstone from a choice of either:

  • S1-2 ENG00127H English Dissertation (40 credits)
  • S1-2 ENG00129H English Dissertation with Creative Practice (40 credits)
