All Philosophy assessments are subject to general University regulations, as documented in the University Assessment and Feedback policies.
Assessment dates
Assessment dates for undergraduate students
University Examination Periods 2026/27
All Undergraduate students should make a note of the University examination periods for the 2026/27 academic year, and be available between all the dates below to take examinations and written assessments:
- Semester 1 assessment period: Monday 11 to Saturday 30 January 2027
- Semester 2 assessment period: Monday 17 May to Saturday 5 June 2027
- Late Summer assessment period: Monday 2 to Saturday 14 August 2027
All assessment results can be accessed by individual students through their e:vision assessment record when they become available.

Turnitin submissions
Assessment submission via Turnitin
Summative assessments (essays and online exams) will be submitted via Turnitin across the University unless specified otherwise.
Please follow the guidance below for summative assessment submission via Turnitin. This guidance is aimed at students submitting Philosophy modules.

Prizes
Prizes running in 2026/27
J L Mackie First Year Prize
£100 awarded to the Single Honours student with the best performance overall in Philosophy modules.
The 2025/26 prize was awarded to Amirah Zainab.
Marie McGinn Second Year Prize
£100 is awarded to the student with the best performance on a minimum of 60 credits of Philosophy modules (excluding PPE).
The 2025/26 prize was awarded to Jos Jones.
Thomas Baldwin Third Year Prize
£100 is awarded to the student with the best performance on a minimum of 60 credits of Philosophy modules (excluding PPE).
The 2025/26 prize was awarded to Ieva Citaviciute.
