Welcome to the Norwegian Study Centre (NSC), York
We are a friendly and open department in the University of York, established by the Norwegian government as one of its four international study centres. With long experience and ongoing devotion, we teach students from Norwegian Universities and Colleges and practising teachers of English as well as various groups from the public and private sector.
Please explore our webpages to learn more about what the NSC has to offer. You can come here for shorter courses of 1-2 weeks, or a longer exchange programme for up to two full terms.
If you have any questions, or if there is anything more you would like to know, please do contact us and we will do our best to help.
We hope to see you in York soon.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: The United Kingdom is currently in 'lockdown' with severe movement and travel restrictions. This will last until 7 May, but is likely to be extended. The NSC's building has been closed by the University of York. Please see the University's COVID-19 page for updated information. The NSC will reopen once we have permission to operate again. If you have booked a Short Course at the NSC, please contact Beck.Sinar@york.ac.uk at least four weeks in advance of the course (=the cancellation deadline) to assess whether or not it can go forward.
In terms of our Autumn courses, the YorkCourse will be made accessible online, whereas for the Short Courses, an alternative online course package for those courses that cannot go forward is currently under development. Full information on this option will be issued to the Norwegian institutions in May.
