Event details

The Palm Protect consortium aims to develop reliable methods for the early detection, eradication, control and containment of the red palm weevil (Rhynchophorus ferrugineus), and the moth Paysandisia archon. These creatures destroy palm trees from the inside, making them difficult to detect and destroy. The methods developed by Palm Protect will be used at the origin and point of entry of the pests, as well as in transit and on-site, to combat their destructive ways.
