Biography

Ben completed his BA (Hons) in Business Management at the University of York, achieving First-class Honours with Distinction in 2019, which was followed by being awarded an MSc in Management with Distinction, again at the University of York, in 2020. During his undergraduate studies, he won the Total System Services (TSYS) Masters Scholarship. Furthermore, Ben achieved the award of highest achieving student on the (MSc) in Management programme and highest dissertation mark across all Masters programmes for the 2020 class. His MSc dissertation looked at Sociomateriality and the Work-life balance in UK Telecommunications industry.

For his PhD, he is keen to further investigate the current corporate leadership around innovation and the reinvention of work in today’s digital workplace. Technology is changing daily; businesses have to keep up with technology and how this could change collaboration in the office or as a remote worker forever, as we increasingly head towards a 24/7, always-switched-on society. As the workplace has changed drastically over the last twelve months with Covid-19, Ben is keen to understand the impacts on productivity, surveillance and advantages of key collaborative tools and software applications, balanced with how this can support employees personal wellbeing, work-life balance and job satisfaction.
