Biography

Lucy James
LLB (Lond.), Solicitor, PGCE (UCLan)

Associate Lecturer/PBL Tutor

I studied law at The London School of Economics and qualified as a solicitor with a City firm where I specialised in commercial litigation. After a move to Yorkshire, I worked as a civil and commercial litigation solicitor for a small firm in Halifax and in-house as the Litigation Services Manager for Yorkshire Building Society, Bradford. My interest in working in education developed in response to becoming a parent and led me to complete a post-16 PGCE.

I have been working in education since 2008 including sixth forms, further and higher education.

I am really excited about working at YLS as the role of the PBL Tutor combines perfectly my interest in law with my commitment to working with young people in education.

In addition to working at YLS, I freelance for a leading industrial disease firm, specialising in pursuing claims for individuals with asbestos-related disease.
