Helen Slater

Lecturer 

Following the PgDL and BVC, I undertook pupillage and later became a tenant at No6 Barristers Chambers (now Park Square Barristers) in Leeds. I specialised in Criminal Law, both prosecuting and defending in the Crown Court. I then moved into higher education and joined BPP as a lecturer, teaching on the Bar Training, Legal Apprenticeships and Law Conversion Programmes. During my 15 years at BPP I held Module Leader, Programme Leader and curriculum design roles. My specialist teaching areas are Criminal Law, Criminal Litigation, Oral Skills including witness handling, and Professional Ethics.

 

Office hours: I work Monday to Thursday.

I am a member of the LLM Professional Legal Practice (SQE 1 and 2) design team at York Law School. I teach SQE1 Criminal Law and Practice and SQE2 skills.
