Following my undergraduate studies I completed the LPC at The College of Law (now the University of Law) and then commenced my training contract at a general practice in Leeds. I qualified as a Solicitor in 2004, specialising in family law. I then moved into higher education and joined BPP Law School in Leeds as a lecturer, teaching the LPC, LLM Legal Practice and LLB. During my 15 years at BPP I held module leader and programme leader roles and also assisted with the Legal Advice Clinic. My specialist teaching areas are family and property law, together with various legal skills including interviewing, advocacy, accounts and professional conduct.

I joined York Law School as a Lecturer in October 2021.
