Biography

Sarah Archer
BA (Oxon), Solicitor

Lecturer

I read law at St Hugh's College, Oxford and completed the Law Society Finals (LPC) course at City of London Polytechnic. I then worked with Freehills (now Herbert Smith Freehills) in Sydney for 6 months and then joined Freshfields (now Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer) as an 'articled clerk'. I qualified as a solicitor in 1988 in the commercial litigation department at Freshfields, where I specialised in fraud, insurance and art law cases.  In 1991 I became a professional support lawyer.

Having moved to York in 1997, I did a year of course development and LPC teaching at The College of Law (now the University of Law) before joining Eversheds in Leeds where I led the professional support lawyer function in Litigation and was part of the firm-wide knowledge management team for 17 years.

I have been a PBL tutor at YLS since its inception in 2007.
