York hosts 2016 Linguistics Association of Great Britain conference

The annual LAGB conference was hosted by the University of York this year. A very full four days was packed with events including keynote talks from Prof. Bernard Comrie (UCSB) and Prof. Paul Smolensky (Johns Hopkins University), a summer school for postgraduate students, a workshop on computation, a Wiki training session, an education session entitled 'Communicating with Other Worlds: Formal Linguistic Second Language Acquisition and Language Teaching', a tutorial on the Australian language Jaminjung/Ngaliwurru, and a series of brief 'pecha kucha'-style presentations alongside the programme of regular talks.

Pictured are York staff and students past and present, including Prof. David Adger (now Queen Mary University London), the current LAGB President.
