Responding the French ouais

‌Rasmus Persson

Dr. Rasmus Persson, a postdoctoral researcher from Lund University in Sweden, will be spending two years in the department working on a project on the interactional significance of prosodic and phonetic variation in confirmingresponse particles in French conversation (e.g. 'oui, 'ouais', 'mm'), and looking at the interplay of these aspects of production with lexico-syntactic choices and context in confirming and agreeing responses more generally.
