MSc students brave cross-examination in mock court proceedings

Two MSc in Forensic Speech Science students, Sarah Mullings and Selina Sutton, stepped into the witness box at the University Law School's Moot Court facility to offer their opinions as expert witnesses in a mock cross-examination carried out (for the defence) by Derek Duffy, a highly experienced barrister who has acted for both prosecution and defence in thousands of criminal trials.

The remaining members of the MSc group formed the jury, while Professor Peter French filled the role of prosecuting barrister. The task of being judge was risen to by Almut Braun and Duncan Robertson.
