White Rose DTC: Mixed-effects modelling workshop

Posted on 3 July 2015

York hosted a White Rose DTC workshop on mixed-effects modelling on the 1st and 2nd of July.

We were pleased to receive postgraduate and academic researchers from Leeds, York and Sheffield. The workshop was organised by Jack Wilson (Leeds) in conjunction with Marilyn Vihman (York), and combined talks, workshops and open sessions to share and discuss ideas on the growing trend of mixed effects regression models. Christoph Scheepers (Glasgow), one of the co-authors of the widely discussed paper "Random effects structure for confirmatory hypothesis testing: Keep it maximal" (2013) gave a thought-provoking talk, which will prompt many of us using these models to re-think our techniques, and Andrew Euan MacFarlane (York) spoke about his own experiences with the technique. Video snippets to follow.
