Elaine Lopez awarded HRC Doctoral Fellowship

Posted on 18 July 2014

Our PhD student Elaine Lopez has been awarded an HRC Doctoral Fellowship and won second prize in the project presentation competition.

Elaine gave a summary of her PhD research on the second-language acquisition of English articles, with reference to the properties of definiteness and specificity, at the HRC doctoral fellowships presentations on 7 July. She was commended by the judges for her "engaging gift for communicating" the topic to a general audience. Here she is receiving her certificate from Professor Jane Grenville, Deputy-Vice-Chancellor and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Students.
