BBfor2 Summer School in Forensic Speech Analysis

The BBfor2 Summer School in Forensic Speech Analysis will take place at the University of York, UK, June 13-16, 2011, followed by a BBfor2 Network meeting, June 17.

The summer school, organised by the York partners of the International Marie Curie Network "Bayesian Biometrics for Forensics" (BBfor2), will be led by Prof. Francis Nolan and will offer a broad insight into aspects of forensic speech science under the instruction of some of the leading experts in the field, including lectures and practical lab sessions by Prof. Peter French, Prof. Jim Scobie, Dr. Tim Grant and Dr. Tim Andrews. The programme will cover topics such as basic concepts about speech and speaker identity, forensic transcriptions and text analysis, phonological and acoustic analysis of forensic speech samples, speaker comparison, automatic speaker recognition, and other biometric topics related to BBfor2 (e.g. face recognition, ultrasound).
