This research study aims to develop methods and the evidence-base for the scientifically rigorous assessment of risk of bias in non-randomised studies of interventions. The project will build on an initial version of A Cochrane Risk of Bias Assessment Tool: Non-Randomised Studies of Interventions (ACROBAT-NRSI).

The Two Week Wait (2WW) study is funded by Yorkshire Cancer Research and aims to investigate patient non-attendance at urgent referral appointments for suspected cancer. The results are expected to inform interventions which aim to reduce non-attendance.

TRECA is funded by the NIHR Health Services and Delivery Research programme to investigate the potential for multimedia information (MMI) resources to improve the quality of decision-making by children and adolescents about participation in healthcare trials.

This study will assess the usefulness of social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter) and unpublished material (e.g. reports, manufacturer data) and will create database searches to find information on the side effects of healthcare interventions.
