Biography

Flavia Swan has a wide range of clinical experience, being employed in the NHS for more than five years. She has since worked abroad in Italy in private practice for 4 years and was self-employed during this period. She has subsequently worked as a palliative care physiotherapist at St Catherine’s Hospice, Scarborough, for two years prior to starting the PhD full time at HYMS in October 2011.

Flavia’s specialist areas of interest and clinical practice include acupuncture in palliative care, non-pharmacological interventions for breathlessness management, and Kinesio-taping.
