Profile

Biography

Lydia joined York Trials Unit in 2018 and is a Trial Manager on the BioDriveAFS, EXTEND and PORTRAIT trials. She previously worked as a Trial Coordinator and Trial Support Officer within YTU and has experience working on orthopaedic surgical randomised controlled trials and a Clinical Trial of an Investigational Medicinal Product.

Projects

  • BioDriveAFS- an RCT investigating the impact of a biomarker driven Antifungal Stewardship strategy on antifungal drug use and health related quality of life for patients with acute leukaemia
  • EXTEND – An RCT determining the effectiveness of longer antibiotic courses in improving intra-abdominal infection patient outcomes
  • PORTRAIT - an RCT investigating whether pain and quality of life are improved with post-operative radiotherapy compared to no radiotherapy and whether radiotherapy reduces the likelihood of further surgery in the future
