Profile

Biography

Kalpita completed a BSc Mathematics at the University of Leeds in 2015 and then went on to complete a MSc Statistics at the University of Leeds in 2016 and received a prize from the Royal Statistical Society for her MSc performance. After working in Education for three years, Kalpita is now working as a Statistician.

  • BASIL/BASIL+ - An RCT of the BASIL programme, a psychological intervention, for mitigating depression and loneliness during the Covid-19 pandemic in older people with long-term health conditions
  • CASCADE - Case finding for depression in primary care: a regression discontinuity design
  • DIDACT - Multi-centre randomised controlled trial to assess the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of surgery compared with sling immobilisation in the management of adults with radiological diagnosis of a displaced fracture of the distal clavicle that does not involve the acromioclavicular joint.
  • FLARE - A multi-centre, two-arm, non-inferiority, parallel group, randomised controlled trial with an internal pilot, economic evaluation and nested qualitative study, to assess whether the repair of the Flexor Digitorum Profundus (FDP) alone results in a as good as quality of life compared to repairing FDP and the Flexor Digitorum Superficialis (FDS).
  • INTERACT - A cluster RCT of Intensive Interaction to support the communication abilities of children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
  • PACT – a programme of six inter-linked studies to understand and improve the experience and safety of care for elderly patients during transitions from hospital to home
