Biography

Matthew works as part of the ComBAT research programme as a Senior Children and Young Person’s Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner for the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust (TEWV). He is also a Visiting Research Fellow with the Mental Health and Addiction Research Group (MHARG) at the University of York.

Matthew has worked in community Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) and education settings to provide evidence-based Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (LI-CBT) for children & young people suffering common mental health difficulties such as anxiety and low mood. 

Qualifications:

  • Post Graduate Certificate in Low-Intensity Psychological Interventions (University of Northumbria, 2019)
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Clinical Supervision for Children and Young People Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programmes (University of Northumbria, 2021)

Overview

I have a particular interest in helping to develop evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing low mood and depression.
