Staff Research Seminar: Teachers’ perceptions of disruptive behaviour at school
Wednesday 14 December 2011, 1.00PM
Speaker(s): Poppy Nash
This talk will report on a pilot study undertaken in the summer term (2011), which is currently being expanded. For the pilot phase, information was gathered via a postal questionnaire from both primary and secondary schools across England, on teachers’ understanding and application of Attachment Theory in managing disruptive behaviour at school. Questionnaires were also completed by PGCE trainees in the Department of Education, University of York in the final week of their course. Findings from the study will be discussed, with a view to their implications for schools and directions for future research.
