Biography

Biography

Chenlan shares research interests in investigating the labour market policy and social security schemes with a focus on the East Asia. Besides, she conducts comparative social policy analysis for informing policy design, implementation, and learning. Chenlan mainly employs the qualitative research method. In her PhD study, Chenlan expects to examines the functioning of labour market policies in China for improving the employment quality.

Prior to her PhD study, Chenlan completed the BA (Hons) in Education at the University of Birmingham, UK. Then, she graduated from the MSocSci in Comparative Social Policy from Lingnan University, Hong Kong. During the master study, Chenlan conducted a comparative qualitative analysis on labour market policies in Greater China to interpret convergences and divergences of policy ideas and design. After the graduation from the master programme, Chenlan worked as a research assistant in Lingnan University, Hong Kong.
