21st annual BiTEG meeting report

Posted on 21 January 2020

York hosted the 21st annual 'Work in Progress Meeting' of the White Rose Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Group on 16 December.

This meeting brought together researchers from Sheffield, Leeds, York, and Durham for a one-day multidisciplinary meeting to promote new ideas and collaborations. We were very lucky to have Professor Aldo Boccaccini, a world expert in the design of bioactive glasses for tissue engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, as a plenary speaker thanks to generous support from YBRI. His inspiring talk was the highlight of a programme that focussed on giving early career researchers a chance to present to their work. The 14 talks and 22 posters, from Masters students through to postdocs, highlighted both the breadth and excellence of biomaterials and tissue engineering research across the White Rose region.
