The Department of Biology is dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive community that supports staff and students who have disabilities. This includes assisting individuals in developing working practices best suited to their needs, and building an environment that promotes discussion and collegial support.

We have dedicated Disability Representatives for both students and staff:

These representatives attend the BioEDG Committee (Biology Equality and Diversity Group).

The University's Disabled staff network, INCLUDE (Inclusive Network Connecting and Linking University Disabled Employees) launched in 2015 and is open to all staff. It aims to promote the value of disabled staff and improve their working environment by raising awareness, sharing good practice and providing a forum for discussing ideas and issues.
