Museums for Profusion

Friday 21 September 2018, 9.00AM to 5.00pm

Speaker(s): Bernadette Lynch and Rachael Minott

The final knowledge exchange event for the Profusion theme of the Heritage Futures project is taking place at the National Railway Museum in York on the 21st of September 2018.

Museums for Profusion brings over 30 curators and other collections development professionals and volunteers from around the UK together with our Profusion researchers and partners to discuss the results of our Contemporary Collecting and Disposal Survey. Bernadette Lynch and Rachael Minott will set the tone for the day with short keynote presentations, followed by a series of round-table sessions where we get stuck into the survey results together. The results have been grouped into eight themed data discussion cards on a range of topics including Reported Accessioning/Deaccessioning Ratios, Collections Development Policies, Purchased & Donated Social History Objects, Sustainability & Futures, Disposal, Transparency and Public Participation.
