Thank you very much to those of you who attended Richard Friend's insightful seminar on 'Rethinking Urban Vulnerability and Poverty in Asia' last week. It was a great opportunity to discuss the exciting research that Richard is undertaking. 

Global Food Security and Sustainable Nutrition Seminar

For the next International Development Network event we are delighted to welcome Prof. Tony Heron (Department of Politics), who is leading the Network's Global Food Security and Sustainable Nutrition theme. Tony will be introducing some of the work he will be undertaking as part of the brand new 3.3 million pound IKnowFood Research Programme. AgriFood at York - Local Pump Priming Information

Opportunity for PhD Students and early career researchers working on development issues

RiDNet is hosting a conference at the University of Leeds on 27th January 2017 and is encouraging PhD students and early career researchers working on development to submit abstracts reflecting on their experiences of conducting research within and related to (1) different contexts; (2) other disciplines; and (3) self. York Festival of Ideas 2017
The York Festival of Ideas will return from 6 to 18 June 2017 with a theme of The Story of Things. The IDN team are looking at how the IDN can support the Festival. If you are planning to submit an international developmnet related expression of interest to the York Festival of Ideas team (1 Dec deadline) let us know - the network may be able to offer support.
