UYSEG Network meeting: Genomics Education

Friday 4 March 2016, 5.00PM to 6.15pm

Are you a teacher interested in using research in your classroom, taking part in research, or doing your own research in science education?  The University of York Science Education Group Network brings together teachers and researchers to explore the connections between research and practice.

The fast-moving and socially important science of genomics has hit pre-16 education in the UK "officially" in the new specifications. UYSEG members have been conducting research, sponsored by the Wellcome Trust Genome Campus public engagement team, into what is known already about effective ways to help young people learn about genomics and into the support that is available. We will present headline findings and invite your thoughts on how you would plan related schemes of learning.

If you are interested finding out more why not come along to the UYSEG Network meeting on Friday 4th March from 5.00 - 6.15 pm (tea available from 4.30 pm).
