Posted on 29 June 2015

Three lecturers to be appointed as Department expands following REF success and introduction of 4-year MPsych Programme

Psychology Building from james

We are seeking to appoint three lecturers to new posts following an outstanding outcome in the most recent national assessment of research quality and the successful introduction of a 4-year undergraduate degree with an integrated masters programme.

We welcome applications from candidates in any field which complements or extends our existing strengths and takes advantage of the University’s research-led environment.

Successful applicants for recent lectureships in the Department have had publications meeting the 3*/4* criteria of quality defined for REF2014, have won external funding to support their research, have held one or more post-doctoral appointments, and have often gained experience of working in more than one country.

The department holds an Athena SWAN Silver Award which recognises our positive support for women in science. We are proud of our inclusive and friendly culture.

You can read the Advertisement and Candidate Brief here. You can discuss the posts informally with the Head of Department, Professor Quentin Summerfield (quentin.summerfield@york.ac.uk+44 (0)1904 322913), or with any member of the Search Committee (Professor Gareth Gaskell, Dr Shirley-Ann Rueschemeyer, Dr Harriet Over, and Professor Alan Baddeley) whose contact details can be found at http://www.york.ac.uk/psychology/staff/faculty/.

Applications should be submitted on-line through the portal at http://jobs.york.ac.uk. We anticipate that interviews will be held in mid-September. Start dates are open to negotiation but are expected to be no later than 1st April 2016.
