Dr Gavin Phillips wins ‘Inspirational Lecturer’ award

Student led excellence awards votes Gavin most inspirational lecturer of the year.

In the recent student led awards for excellence in teaching and supervision, Dr Gavin Phillips was nominated and won the University’s ‘Inspirational Lecturer’. The award recognises the lecturer whose approach to teaching and engagement, with both students and subject content, inspires students to achieve their very best. The winner of this award is also seen to challenge student perceptions and push students beyond their academic boundaries.

Students said “Gavin never fails to keep the entire department's morale sky-high."

Each year, the University’s student union (YUSU) recognise exemplary work by staff through the Excellence in Teaching and Supervision Awards. We are really proud that Gavin’s inspirational energy, clarity and commitment have been recognised.
