Rachel Zar

MA Public Administration and Public Policy

Rachel's passion for human rights has drawn her to study politics and law in the past, and she remains keen to develop her understanding of the subjects through the MA in Public Administration and Public Policy.

The campus is very green and leafy. It's a very peaceful place to study, with the lakes bridges between the buildings, the fresh air, and the ducks going about their business!

Living in York is great too. There are lots of activities and events going on, and there's a good nightlife. Plus, being located on a major railway network is handy - most major cities and regions are very accessible from York station, with London and Edinburgh both just a couple of hours away.

The MPA has a great mix of students from different countries backgrounds, which has given me such a positive learning experience.

The lectures are very engaging, and I really enjoy having the opportunity to share ideas with students from different backgrounds in our seminars.

As a course rep, I've enjoyed helping resolve other students' issues, which has helped me develop good friendships with my peers. I've really appreciated being able to rely on the university staff for help.

I've loved everything about my time at York - the staff, the teaching, the postgraduate community, the opportunities, and my achievements!

Lisa Greenough

MA Public Administration

Having been out of education for 20 years, Lisa chose to go back to study the MA in Public Administration at York - and hasn't looked back since.

Ran Hu

MA International Relations

Ran is thankful that his MA International Relations degree has taught him a valuable lesson - that there are no correct answers in social sciences. He stayed on to study for a PhD with us.

Yaqi Yang

Yaqi arrived in York from China, and is making the most of her time here - meeting people, taking part in community events, and volunteering with Visit York.

Solène Dia

MA Conflict Governance and Development

Solène's MA Conflict Governance and Development degree has not only given her a solid understanding of development, it's given her the tools to adapt herself to different situations.
