Profile

Biography

I am a Lecturer in the School of PET specialising in radio astronomy and high energy astrophysics. I am actively involved in projects with the School's outreach facility, the Astrocampus, in particular I am co-managing an initiative using VR headsets in local schools. My research interests are centred around mapping the intensity and magnetic fields of radio bright objects such as jets and supernova remnants.

Overview

Chair of the Board of Trustees for The Lightyear Foundation (link), a charity breaking down the barriers to disabled children in STEM subjects. We have collaborated with this charity to set up an outreach project empowering disabled children in the local region to engage with astronomy through the use of virtual reality technologies.

Editorial board member for Physics Review, a magazine for students studying A-level Physics.
