Biography

Hadi El Daou is a lecturer of robotics and control in the school of Physics Engineering and Technology at the university of York. He is also a member of the Healthcare and Intelligent Systems & Robotics Groups at the University of York. Prior to joining the University of York, He was a Research Associate in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Imperial College London.

Between 2019 and 2022, He was the course leader of Controlling Robotic Systems module within the master’s Mechatronic Systems for Rehabilitation at Sorbonne University, Paris, France. From 2020 to 2022, He was as a teaching assistant and a guest lecturer for the course Introduction to Robotics, designed for fourth year undergraduate students in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Imperial College. In June 2023, he was an invited lecturer at Universidad Panamericana, Aguascalientes, Mexico teaching a course on Modelling, Simulation and Control of dynamic systems to fourth year students in Mechatronics engineering.

Hadi holds a PhD and master’s degrees in Mechanics and Robotics from Sorbonne University (Paris VI) in Paris, France.

Research

His research focuses on applying methods and techniques from engineering to gain a better understanding of the function, injury and repair of the lower limb biomechanics and to pioneer innovative robotic assisted orthopedic solutions and products. His research interests include: Orthopedic biomechanics robotic testing; robotic assisted technologies; Surgical planning; Imaging and Modelling.
