Two students from the Centre for Lifelong Learning's Postgraduate Diploma in The Geology of Yorkshire & Northern England have recently had articles published in Issue 56 of Deposits Magazine:

This continues a long legacy of publishing in Deposits Magazine, as well as Earth Heritage Magazine. Programme leader for PGDip Geology of Yorkshire and Northern England, Dr Annette McGrath said:

“Whitby Jet, an unusual organic mineraloid, is both fascinating and beautiful in equal measure, and Arthur’s outstanding article helps to shed light on this enigmatic Yorkshire gemstone. Ken’s superb article on the geology of La Gomera is an enthralling read and superbly illustrates and explains the complex ‘holiday geology’ of this beautiful member of the Canary Islands.

The PG Diploma programme at the Centre for Lifelong Learning offers many opportunities to publish articles in geological magazines, as I actively encourage and enable students to publish aspects of their coursework, as well as their wider geological research interests. A wealth of articles have been published so far, in collaboration with me, by current and past students on the programme, in both Deposits and Earth Heritage Magazines”.
