A former second year student of the Centre for Lifelong Learning's Postgraduate Diploma in The Geology of Yorkshire and northern England Keith Eastwood, has had his article published in Issue 55 of Deposits magazine.

The article, 'Carbonate platforms and coral reefs: The Coralline Oolite formation of the Yorkshire Upper Jurassic - A prime source of Palaeontological information' focuses on the carbonate platform environments of Spikers Hill and Betton Farm Quarries located in Yorkshire.

The programme leader Dr Annette McGrath, who actively encourages and enables students on the PG Diploma to publish their work said:

Both quarries are key sites that are visited during the second year residential week course in York. They offer a wealth of important palaeoecological and palaeogeographical information on Yorkshire’s fascinating Corallian Group and Keith’s article superbly illustrates the importance of these classic geological sites.”
